Scope of Veterinary
1) Less competition
Although the competition is increasing day by day, we can say there is less competition in the veterinary field compared to other subjects because there are only 4 colleges that are providing this course. So less than 180 students are graduated every year.
2) Government sectors
Every year there is a vacant post for Veterinary doctors in the government sector. The government is planning to allocate one veterinary doctor in each ward. If this comes true then the seats are going to be vacant cause there are fewer veterinary doctors. This also means all the vet doctors will get a government job.
3) Private clinic
You can either get a job or open your own private vet clinic. Nowadays, people are attached to animals. There are only a few private clinics in Nepal.
4)Foreign country
You can go to foreign countries for further study or continue practicing veterinary. But you should get the vet license first. Once you get the license your earning will be about >6 lakhs per month (it will increase).
If you don't have the license you can't do the clinical activity but you can work on farms with a salary of about 5 lakhs per month.
5)Animal husbandry
Pig farming, Goat farming, Poultry, etc are emerging businesses in Nepal. You can be their adviser & teach them to rear the animals, increase productivity. You can also give the essential treatment to the animals.
You can also do marketing.
6)Wildlife
If you want to explore the species and travel, then the Veterinary profession is best for you. Nepal is rich in wildlife resources and veterinary doctors do not dare to work in wildlife. So you have a high chance of working in wildlife. Who can protect the wildlife is veterinary rather than Veterinary doctors.
7) Zoo
You can also work in a zoo...
8) Industries
Dairy industries, Animal food processing companies, fish companies, Biotech companies, pharmaceutical, Food industries, etc
9) Transportation Sectors
Vet doctors are needed to check the condition of animals to be transported. Without the verification letter, animals can't be transported. So they can work in Airport, Railways, Seaways, etc
10)Teachers or Professor
You can be a professor in a vet school and vet universities.
11) Entrepreneur
Beyond the vet clinical practices, you can also.....
Open own farm and work there
Start your own business cause you have all the ideas about how to start a business,, where to sell, how to improve the business, etc.
Start your own vet pharmacy.
